The back half of this positon group will be interesting when McKsissic returns, though, since Carson and Penny each have versatile skill sets, meaning Seattle doesn’t have a need for five active tailbacks on game day. If anything, it just means that either Prosise or Davis will see the field more for the first few weeks while McKissic is inactive. The top five has been the same all year and McKissic’s foot injury doesn’t change that. Running back (6): Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, Mike Davis, C.J. Hundley might be better equipped to keep the team afloat in Wilson’s absence - Green Bay had an outside shot at the playoffs when Aaron Rodgers returned late in the year - which is why you see him on this list and not McGough or Davis. The fact still remains: If circumstances require anyone other than Wilson to start a game for the Seahawks in 2018, Seattle is in deep trouble. Hundley wasn’t all that productive in nine games as a starter last season with the Packers, but he does have starting experience. To be fair to Davis, he was placed on injured reserve and not waived, so apparently he suffered an undisclosed injury during the preseason. Austin Davis lasted in Seattle’s system for a little more than a year and wasn’t impressive enough to push Wilson, nor was he consistent enough this preseason to prove any more qualified for the job than rookie Alex McGough, who may end up on the practice squad. Seattle gave up a 2019 sixth-round pick for Hundley’s services, which was a clear indication he would be Wilson’s backup this season. Quarterback (2): Russell Wilson, Brett Hundley With that said, let’s dive into Seattle’s 53-man roster: The Seahawks are, again, doing things at their leisure, which is bad news for Thomas. The longer Thomas holds out, the more money he loses. The Seahawks aren’t in a hurry to trade Thomas because they don’t have to be. Need an additional reminder? Well, Seattle reportedly isn’t in a rush to trade free safety Earl Thomas, who is still holding out over a desire for a new contract.
